PC Gamers Are Tired Of Console Ports

Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 is a vivid example of how pc gamers are being disrespected out of exclusive pc features. When Infinity Ward announced that they would not include dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2 geeks all across the net were united and loud in denouncing the decision. A group was formed to boycott the game, while many held true most didn’t and went ahead and bought the game.
Sales were extremely good for the pc version of MW2 and that success might tend to tell Activision that PC gamers will buy what they are given, no matter what. I hope that isn’t the case, but at the end of the day they are a company trying to make a profit for their share holders. My guess is that PC gamers merely accepted what they were given because it was that or nothing.
The PC gaming community comprises of so many different types of people that maintaining any kind of real solidarity is simply impossible. Although if the voices are loud enough then the adage that the squeaky wheel gets the oil will hold true and some changes will happen.
One other constant in the complaint department is the lack of customized features solely for PC versions of games. Modern Warfare 2 was essentially the exact same game on the PC as it was on the consoles. The PC version looked the best but other than that it was the same game. One thing that was particularly troublesome was that the PC version had the same player limit in online matches as the consoles. I fully understand why you would need to do that for the Xbox 360 but I do not get why the pc version had to carry the same limitation.
It’s time for pc gamers to demand better, to effectively “vote” for the kinds of features we want with our dollars. Buy games that are PC specific or at least provide features that consoles don’t have because the PC isn’t as limited as the Xbox 360 or PS3 hardware wise.

There is a lot of controversy over whether registry cleaners are necessary programs for the optimal performance of your personal computer. Some reviewers claim that they will get your sluggish computer back up to speed quickly. Others say that they are completely unnecessary, and can even cause your system to malfunction or crash.
What a registry cleaner is designed to do is scan the registry of your computer for files that are unused, corrupt, fragmented or invalid. It can find virus or malaware entries that you may not be aware of. These files are then either deleted or quarantined. The claim is that you will experience a speedier start up and less problems with how programs run. However, since some of these files may be critical, you must have the ability to do manual removal with any cleaning program.
Using a registry cleaner can be dangerous, according to some experts. It may remove files that are necessary for programs to load or perform properly. It can even cause a full system crash. They state that the best results may be the gain of a few kilobytes of disk space, and maybe a faster start up. However, with the storage and disk space on most computers that is a negligible result. Are these programs just ’snake oil, ‘ as one expert reviewer has stated?
Questions arise about the information that free trials of cleaner give. Possibly, once you have been told you have hundreds of errors in your registry affecting performance, you are going to want to buy the program that can clean that ‘mess’ up. You may just find, instead, that you have now lost some necessary files and the functionality is impaired. You may even find that the computer speed has slowed because the registry has been fragmented.
Keeping your registry clean, program developers claim, will require scheduled maintenance. What they don’t say is that a few orphaned files or extra entries in the registry of your computer will not noticeably affect its functioning. Instead, to avoid problems, install only licensed programs to your system, and keep them up to date. Back up your critical data regularly. Be very cautious about installing and uninstalling trial or beta software programs. Always have a good anti-virus and malaware system running, and keep its files updated. Regularly defragment your system and delete temporary files. Just these simple stems will keep your system cleaner, and you won’t need to consider the dilemma of whether or not to use registry cleaners.
